I am looking forward to meeting with all the parents this week to discuss how your children are doing. Please think of some goals that you wish to set with for your child before the meetings on Wednesday and Thursday. * Don't forget that the school day will end at 2:00P.M. on the 15th and 16th.
Here is the schedule for the CONFERENCES. Let me know if you need to make a change.
The year is now in full swing! I am hoping that everyone enjoyed the holiday! We have some fun and exciting things planned for the month of October at school.
October Themes
Harvest and thanksgiving: Canadian Thanksgiving is on Monday October 13th and we want to take some time to be thankful for our friends, family, food, school and everything else we have. At this time we also celebrate the season’s harvest.
Thanksgiving is also about sharing, so on Monday October 13th we will ask each student to bring a healthy snack that can be shared with the class
Leaves and autumn: Autumn is a time to prepare for winter and the world around us goes through many changes. In Canada our leaves turn spectacular colours during our fall season and kindergarten will be learning about beautiful phenomenon.
Halloween:Friday October 31st is Halloween, and we will be spending time learning about this fun, spooky holiday. Students should dress up in their favorite costumes for Halloween!
*Cooking Class: As part of themes this year we will be having cooking and baking classes around once a month. The cost for ingredients is 10 RMB per class. I will be collecting 100 RMB from each student to cover costs for the year. Please send the funds to school in an envelope when it is convenient for you.
Now that the weather is getting cooler, students are expected to be wearing their formal uniforms on Tuesday and Wednesday. It is also a good time to check that your son or daughter’s name is inside any articles of clothing they may take off, such as PE jackets, red blazers and ties. Any under shirts worn under the uniform also must be white in colour.
I am hoping to see many of you this Friday, October 10, when we visit the apple orchard. We will be departing from the school at 10 a.m.
Here are a few or the pictures from our field trip to the apple orchard. We had a great time making our own dumpling. After the cooking we stopped of a delicious "peasant style" lunch. At the end of the day it was finally time to pick some apples. We must have taken home hundreds of fresh apples.
