November is here. With the excitement of Halloween behind us, we begin some new and exciting themes at school. We will be studying dinosaurs in class this month. Ms. Wu and I are looking into a possible field trip relating to our dinosaur theme.
November is also special month as we take time to remember those men and women who have fought throughout history, in many different countries, to protect the freedoms of citizens throughout the world. Remembrance Day is on November 11th in Canada and we will do some activities this month to remember the people who helped us be able to enjoy the freedom we have today.
Autumn is well under way and days are cooler. Layering is a good way to keep your child warm at school, just please make sure they are wearing white under their uniform shirts. Lastly, I would like you to know that the class picture on our wiki is available to download from Mr. Arca’s website at http://mrarcadoeslanguagearts.weebly.com/school-pictures-2014-2015.html, as well as on our class weebly below.

We are also looking into a field trip that will help us learn about what life was like in the age of dinosaurs.
Physical Education (PE): We have PE on Monday, Thursday and Friday. Please make sure that your son or daughter comes dressed in their PE uniforms on that day and they are wearing proper running shoes. This month we are continuing to learn Soccer skills including dribbling, passing, and shooting the ball.
Library: We have Library every Friday. The students may take home 2 English books and 1 Mandarin book each week. Please help your child remember to bring their books back on Thursday or Friday and enjoy reading with them throughout the week!
Show and Tell: Our show and tell rotation is beginning. Please check the schedule to see when your child will present. Help them prepare 5 to 10 English sentences that help describe the object to the class. Show and tell items could include: a favorite toy, a book, a piece of artwork that they made, a souvenir from a holiday, photographs, a pet, etc.
